Collection: Cat Scratch Furniture Protectors
Scratching is territorial maintenance, not spite — cats work the edges of the space they own, which is why the damage shows up in the same few places rather than spread across the room: the corner of the sofa, the frame of the door they want opened, the windowsill they sit on, and whatever stands next to where they sleep. Pick the protector by the surface, not by the cat.
Sofas and couches. The clear cat couch protector is a 0.075 mm PET film on a reinforced oil-based adhesive that grips woven upholstery. It comes as a 15.7 × 118.1 in roll, a 15.7 × 236.2 in long roll for sectionals, and — if you would rather not cut anything — pre-cut sticker sheets, ten pieces (eight at 17 × 12 in plus two at 17 × 6 in) or twenty. The rolls sit on gridded backing paper, so arms, corners and cushion edges get cut to shape with household scissors and pressed down with the squeegee in the box. A matte version of the standard roll is there for anyone who finds gloss film catches the light across a room.
Doors and windowsills. A door needs a tall sheet and a sill needs a narrow one, so these are cut differently rather than sold as one size and trimmed down. The cat and dog scratch door protector is a 24 × 120 in clear roll, wide enough to cover the panel a dog paws at as well as the strip a cat works at standing height. The windowsill protector is a 7.5 × 120 in roll already shaped for a ledge. Both are the same 0.075 mm clear PET and both ship with a squeegee.
Redirecting rather than blocking. Clear film takes away the texture a cat is looking for; felt gives it back somewhere you do not mind. The felt cat scratch mat is a 15.7 × 118.1 in self-adhesive roll with a 4 mm felt face over foam backing, so it protects the surface and works as a scratch pad at the same time — the side of a sofa, a wall corner, the post of a cat tree.
Before anything goes down. Clean the surface and let it dry fully; the adhesive will not hold on damp, greasy, damaged or uneven material. The clear films are rated for woven upholstery, wood, tile, glass, metal, painted walls and smooth wallpaper — not velvet, faux fur, microfibre or leather. The adhesive is one-shot, so measure before you peel. To take a piece off later, warm the edge with a hairdryer until the adhesive softens, then lift slowly from a corner.
