A human hair dryer runs too hot and too loud for a dog, and a towel leaves a double coat damp at the skin for hours. A pet grooming dryer moves more air at a lower temperature, and the right one depends on the size of the dog and how much coat there is to dry.

For small and medium dogs and for cats, the Portable Dog Hair Dryer is a 300 W handheld that stays under 60 dB, with three heat settings and a self-cleaning slicker brush attachment: you brush and dry in one pass, then press a button to release the collected hair.

For large dogs, thick double coats and post-bath blow-outs, the High-Velocity Dog Force Dryer is a 1500 W blower with nine airflow levels, adjustable heat from 86 to 140°F (30 to 60°C), negative ion output and three nozzles for wide drying, targeted drying and blowing out loose undercoat.
