What pet parents say

★★★★★ 4.5 · 199 ratings on Chewy (78% 5-star)

★★★★★ Verified · Chewy

"I think I just took off three years worth of undercoat and both my cats look significantly smaller. Can't recommend enough for medium to long-haired animals."

★★★★★ Verified · Chewy

"My long haired cat hates a regular brush because it tugs. I ran this through her fur and she let me do it — it freed a bunch of tangles and a whole bunch of shedded fur. The photo is just from three strokes."

"I'm a groomer. I absolutely love this product. It does an amazing job removing loose and dead undercoat. I spray quick slicker in the coat and use this tool to easily remove shedding coat."

★★★★ Verified · Chewy

"With a border collie, deshedding is so important and this worked well. I like the rounded edges on the blades so it doesn't feel uncomfortable for my pup. One downside — it can cause static; a dryer sheet helps."

FAQ

What's the difference between the two sides?

One side has 9 wider teeth for cutting through stubborn mats and tangles (dematting); the other has 17 finer teeth for thinning and removing loose undercoat (deshedding). Start with the 9-teeth side to open knots, then switch to the 17-teeth side to clear loose fur.

Which coats does it work best on?

It's a two-sided tool, so the answer depends on which side you're using. The 9-teeth side loosens mats and tangles — that works on short, medium and long coats alike, wherever the hair knots up. The 17-teeth side lifts loose undercoat, and that's where coat type matters: the more undercoat your pet carries, the more fur comes out.

It works best on medium to long coats — long, wiry, thick or double coats, and dense undercoat during seasonal shed. On short or fine coats the mats still come out, but expect less loose fur to lift. If your pet has no mats and very little undercoat, a slicker brush or a fine-tooth comb is the better everyday tool.

Will it hurt my pet or pull the fur?

Brush only in the direction of hair growth with light pressure — never against the grain or with force. On loose-skinned areas, pull the skin taut first so the teeth glide through without catching.

Can I use it during bath time?

Yes. The non-slip TPR handle keeps a secure, comfortable grip even with wet hands.

How do I clean the brush?

Loose hair lifts off the teeth easily — just wipe or pull it away after each session. No sticky sheets or batteries needed.

Is it suitable for guinea pigs, rabbits or other small pets?

No — it's designed for medium to large dogs and cats with thick or double coats. The stainless-steel dematting teeth are made to cut through mats, and the 2.8-inch head is too large and too coarse for a small pet's thin, delicate skin. For guinea pigs, rabbits and similar small pets, use a soft-bristle brush or a fine-tooth comb made for small animals.
